What Is Melanotan II?
Melanotan II (MT-2) is a synthetic cyclic heptapeptide analogue of α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone. Cyclisation via a lactam bridge makes it far more stable and considerably more potent than native α-MSH, and it binds the melanocortin receptor family non-selectively — MC1R, MC3R, MC4R and MC5R.
